Rules!

Please read our rules and ask about anything you dont not understand. Pressing B in-game will also display these rules!

General

Don't be a turd, this is harder for some than others. Treat others how you want to be treated.
Server staff reserves the right to kick/ban players if a players behavior is unacceptable. This is a discussion among staff.
Staff have lifes too, do not think you are being ignored. We will fix things as time prevails
Closed mouth does not get fed! Speak up if something is messed up, we will look into it.
Do not abuse others good nature. IE: if someone lets you borrow a car, do not just take the car and ghost them.
DayZ is from 2013, mods can cause instability. Shit might get wild from time to time. Be patient
Abuse of other members will not be accepted, this is a loaded issue. People will talk shit and joke, if your offended say something.
Server restarts are in Eastern Time: 12am 4am 8am 12pm 4pm 8pm
Join the discord server for communication with server staff, some of us are tabbed out
Logging off to avoid admins will result in a ban. We do not want to ban, we can talk like adults when problems arise.
Theft will not be tolerated on any DoSS server, this will result in a ban.
Gameplay type will be listed clearly in the server title IE: PvP or PvE

Base-Building

No raiding at this time, this might be something for the future.
You must have a flag and secure your base.
No blocking roads.
If you are going to build a mansion, build it off the road to avoid server lag.
When in doubt ask a Admin to approve your base location, never hurts to ask.
No sky bases, lets be real here.
No real limits of people to a base at this time, staff will advise if needed.
If your flag drops below 40% your Base will be subject to removal. This means 18 days with no interaction.
If possible please advise staff if you will be away for an extended period of time. This can be done by submitting a ticket on Discord.
No building within 1000m of Military
No building within 1000m of Traders

Air-Drop / Heli Crashes

It is strongly encouraged to claim any airdrops and heli-crashes. This claim must be done while you are at the drop postion even if crate is still in the air. You may NOT claim a postion from across the map.
Due to the nature of these drops, this claim must be done as soon as safe to do so.
If you arrive on a airdrop and someone is there clearing the zeds, assume it is claimed.
Please limit your claims to 1 Heli Crash and 1 Airdrop per day, per person/group. This will allow other players the opportuntiy to engage in these drops aswell.
IF you have already maxxed your claims for the day and stumble upon a unclaimed drop it will be considered first come first serve. No claim needed. See rule about other people already at drop.
Sportsman like conduct is encouraged on this server, why not share a claim?

Donations

We believe in transparency. DoSS was not created with the intent of making money. DoSS was made with the intention of "doing it" better.

Donations are not required to play on any Department of Survivor Services servers. You will never feel pressured to donate, donations are used running costs of servers. We have a mixture of public and privately hosted servers. These server may be whitelisted or password protected depending on the use case of the server. We have servers that are designed as a testbed for a new map or a test bed for mods being developed prior to release onto the publicly hosted servers. These privately hosted services are physical machines bought with the intention of using them for DayZ server. These servers have monthly upkeep cost as well as repairs/upgrades as needed. As stated above, these servers will always be free to access so long as a player is whitelisted. This can be requested via Discord. Privately hosted servers are whitelisted as a form of protection from bad actors.

Running Costs

We currently have 3 publicly hosted servers which have a cost of 130$ a month.

We also have a VPS which has a cost of 100$ per month.

We have a CFtools subscription for online management of the server without the need to be in-game this costs about $12 a month.

We also have a pateron subscription to John McLane for his work on Deer Isle

We own 2 Dell Poweredge R710, these private machinces are used to test a ideas for the DoSS Community.

What can I donate for?

Running costs, by all means we welcome any help with the monthly cost. Admins typically bare this cost between each other.

We do have the ability to make re-textures. However, there are some items that cannot be re-textured please contact before placing a request. All donator items will be avaliable to all players at the Black Market trader.

Per Bohemia's rules "Selling of in-game items, that don’t affect gameplay, and selling of cosmetic perks are allowed."

Priority list for queue

A special mod that you would like to see implemented on the server, this is a case by case basis. This type of donation needs to be discussed with the server owner before donating.

What cant I donate for?

We DO NOT provide any in-game currency exchange. You cannot buy in game money with real money.

You cannot pay to cheat. Period. Don't bother asking.

You cannot pay for Admin Privileges.

Per Bohemia's rules "Accepting donations is allowed, but to avoid any doubts: not providing donations must not prevent anyone from accessing the content."
